The townland of Knocknaslinna appears in the Tithe Applotment books in Rath parish between Cahaska/ Kihaska and Moyhill. The place no longer existed by the time of Griffith's valuation. Knocknaslinna also appears in the Catholic parish records, spelled Nocknislong. I have located family there so would like to know where this townland was. Thanks for any help!

I looked at the Tithe listings for Knocknaslinna and compared the names to the 1855 Griffiths for the parish of Rath. Based on some of the names that appear to be carried from one file to the later file, my conclusion is that Knocknaslinna became part of Roxton townland.

Thank you, Roger. That makes sense with entries in the parish records as well. The couple I was looking at was James Fitzpatrick and Honora Flanagan, who were listed as residents of Roxton when they were married in 1825; in the baptismal record of 1827 for their daughter Mary, who I think was my ancestor, they live in "Nocknislong." The 1842 Ordnance maps show lots of smaller place names in the area but not Knocknaslinna.
