I think my 9th generation Grandfather, James Andrew McClure, was born in Raphoe in 1660. He married Frances McClure (born Ludlowe). That's about all the information I have. Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Clint:
Maybe someone with an extensive McClure genealogy from Raphoe with see your message and post comments. There is scant record sources with 17th century information for Co. Donegal.

Hello Clint, your James Andrew McClure is a bit of a mystery. I suggest that you check out the moderators of the McClureDNA website and view their pedigrees. I assume that you are a descendant of the Botetout County McClures. Who appear to have a big bearing on the line of Halbert McClure. The main mystery is the possiblilty of James Andrew or Arthur McClures being the father of Halbert. from John Gilbert direct descendant of Samuel and David McClure of Killynure and Cloghroe Convoy Donegal [not far from Raphoe].

John Gilbert,
I have not done the DNA yet. It will take me some time to save the money. My retirement pay is small! I do appreciate you asking!

Clint,
I have done some research myself and have been stumped when I got to James Andrew McClure of Raphoe, Donegla Ireland. I have an unconfirmed father of Andrew J McClure of Wigtonshire, Scotland. My father has done the McClure DNA test, so I will see if I can find out more and share it here.

I have McClure's in my family tree from Raphoe as well. Really don't know much more beyond that.

Hannah McClure is a direct relative of mine from Raphoe who moved to Virginia in the late 1730's.
