My great grandfather, George EVANS left Minard East to come to Australia in 1872, leaving his family behind. Fortunately, for me, he kept in touch with his loved ones until his death in 1917 when his youngest son continued the correspondence until his death in 1927. Contact was then lost. However in the late 1980's I managed to pick up the threads and re connected. The current generation of EVANS remain at Minard East and they have visited me here in Australia. I too have been back to visit them several times since 1990. I will be returning for a family wedding again this June. I have traced the family back to around 1800. Great great grandfather John EVANS married Mary MORIARTY in the church at Lispole in 1847 on the same day that his brother George also married. I cannot find any details on The MORIARTY family although there are many listed in the Parish records. Thomas, brother of George and son of John and Mary, also married a Mary MORIARTY. Are there any suggestions from any one as to where to go next?
Cheers,
Rose

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
It is great that you re-connected with your Irish family after a sixty year gap.
Since the marriage in 1847 likely occurred in the bride's parish which is Dingle, I looked for Mary Moriarty baptismal records in that parish on www.irishgenealogy.ie and found a few but one was for a Mary Moriarty in Lispole which is the same townland as her husband. I'm wondering if this is her baptismal record? See below.
