Hi,
My gr.gr. grandfather Patrick Duane(b.March1842) is believed to have been from Bullaun. on his and his brothers death records we find their father as Michael and their mother as Bridget Schehill_(Skehill). I have found records on RootsIreland for a Bridget(1844) and Thomas(1849) born to Michael Duane and Bridget Schehill in Bullaun. Most likely Pat's family? I have also found a marriage record for a Michael Royan and Bridget Schahill in Menlough(Jan1838). Could Royan be Duane? I also found a birth record for Patrick Royan born to Michael and Bridget Royan in Taum(March1842). could this be My Pat Duane. Is Schehill common with Cahill?
Also Bridget Schehill died and Michael Duane remarried to Anne Forde and had another broode. Some of Pat's half siblings also emigrated to Bergen county New Jersey(Fort Lee and Hackensack) to live with him and his brother. I can find no records of this remarriage or children born to Michael and Anne Forde.
Regards,
Mike Schweizer

Welcome back to Ireland Reaching Out!
Like you, I could not find a baptismal record for Patrick or either marriage record for Michael Duane. Here is a link to the parish register for Bullaun/New Inn http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0327 Maybe the record is there but handwriting was illegible.
I looked at the 18855 Griffiths for Michael Duane and there is a Michael Duane in Cloonymorris townland in Killaan civil parish which corresponds to Bullaun RC parish. Likely this is you ancestor.

I could find no evidence linking Royan to Duane.
Were any of his children from his second marriage born 1864 or later? Possibly we can locate a civil birth record image at www.irishgenealogy.ie
