I am searching for information on my 2nd great-grandfather, George Allen.
When George Allen was born in 1843, his father, Thomas, was 25 and his mother is unknown.
He married Catherine Smith on April 18, 1863, in Sligo, Sligo, Ireland. The marriage record
records George living on Pound Street in Sligo, formerly of Kilglass. (attached)
They immigrated to America in 1863.
They lived in Scranton, Pennsylvannia and had eight children in 15 years.
He died on August 2, 1891, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, at the age of 48, and was buried there.

I have checked for a baptism record for George Allen but was unable to find one. It appears that he was Church of Ireland, and as such, the RCB (Representative Church Body) site is probably the best place to direct your query for a baptism record. Their email address is below:
