Thank you for your prompt reply, Roger.  I originally posted on the Ardfield community site about a year ago.  I am just at such a stand-still on my grandmother, I thought I'd expand to other possible sites.

Sister act;

I am O'Leary-- gggrand father married Catherine Sullivan. Both were from castletown berra area. The Sullivans farmed in Adrigole area. The problem is 72 per cent of the area were Sullivans. I have found the O'Leary tree all the way back to 1750's. 

My next trip back this fall will be the seventh. I was lost for a year before i found out that the Sullivan's in the west area of Cork; church records were kept in County Kerry. Catherine's father was Jerehamire Sulliven and margret was ( Shea ) Sullivan. They came to Conn. in 1847. Catherine's sister was mary and she came with them. 

The O'Leary clan has a gathering every two years; this is trhe year. The Sullivan's are not having the clan gathering until the trail is done. Look up the O'Sullivan clan gathering in Ireland. The history of the Sullivan ( O'Sullivan's ) is interesting.

I would go to www.irishgenealogy.ie and search for all Mary Sullivan birth records in 1871. Focus on the following registration districts: Mallow, Mitchelstown,Lismore, Fermoy, Middleton, Youghal, Cork, Kinsale, Kilmallock, Kanturk, Millstreet, Macroom, Bandon, Clonakilty, Skull, Skibbereen, Bantry and Castletown. It will be tedious work but maybe you will luck out and find the record.

Thank you, both.  This gives me leads to pursue.  I appreciate any help I can get!

My Sullivans settled in Chicago, IL but came through Boston, I believe.  No one stayed in New England.
