I am looking for information about my Grandfather Richard Fintan Whyte and his father David Whyte. I have found records of a Richard White being born in the correct year 1868 in the parish of Moyvane. My grandfather moved to Carlow as a school teacher. His father David was also a school teacher. I know that the surname "white" was sometimes changed and wonder if I have the correct family.
I could not find Moyvane in your index, I googled and found yours to be the nearest. Hopefully I am right!

Hello again!
Moyvane village is either in Knockanaure or Murher parish but I think Knockanure is fine.
www.irishgenealogy.ie has the likely marriage record for David White and Dora Madden with the names of their fathers.. See below. Moyvane baptismal reocrds start in 1855 so no record for David would exist. I did find the likely baptismal record for Richard. See below.

Thank you Roger for all your hard work. This is the most I have learnt and the nearest I have come to discovering who my family were. I need to work out my next step. Once again, thank you so much.
