Clonakenny GAA club who play Intermediate Hurling once again lost out on County Intermediate Hurling Championship success in 2014 when narrowly losing out to eventual winners Moyne-Templetuohy in the Clean Ireland Recycling County Intermediate Hurling Championship Semi-Final. 
Despite the defeat this panel of players can be proud of their achievements of the last few years with 4 Mid Intermediate Titles since 2010 and indeed this year they brought home a first County hurling title at Adult level of any description when they defeated Moycarkey-Borris in the County Intermediate League Final. They also achieved All-Ireland success this year when on All-Ireland Hurling Final weekend they won the St. Jude's All-Ireland 7's Shield title defeating Portumna in the final.
