we appreciate the prompt response to my request for information on our cousin. We were sad to learn that he had died, but after we had no response, we began to suspect it.
We hope to visit Abbeyfeale this fall and will now try to find out if the cousin in NZ is there or if he sold the farm. The sentimental value there lies in the ruins of the original primitive stone hut in the pasture that housed our ancestors. John joe took us to see it the first time we visited. It was a very spiritual experience. We recorded the family history with john Joe and Kathleen and found the sad story of the family's leaving Ireland very touching.

Cathy:
Sorry to have passed on the sad news. We do not have a parish liaison in Abbeyfeale but do have a PL in a neighboring parish. Possibly we can make some in queries about the property. Keep us posted about your visit plans.

Thanks Roger. I will be posting another inquiry via the Roscommon group trying to learn anything we can about my other ancestors. Hope you all have some advice about how to look at the records. Cathy
