Hi,
Is anyone aware of or have connections to a William McIlwain from Ballymartin? Griffith's valuation says there was one from here (townland of Toberagnee). He was my Great, Great Great-Grandfather (1827-1914), married to Brigit Fitzgibbon (1837-1909).
Thanks, and slainte!

Brendan,
The Valuation Revision records for Toberagnee show William as having vacated the property in Toberagnee in 1869. It was a labourer's cottage on James Fleming's farmland.

Thanks so much Elwyn! Any chance you could share a link or basic description of where to find the Valuation Revision records?
Cheers, Brendan

Thanks a lot Elwyn.
Also, a possible earlier ancestor of William McIlwain, an older "William McIlwaine," though this appears to be a little ways (80 miles) from Ballymartin:

McIlwaine is a pretty common name. I'd be surprised if they were connected.
