Hello Carrigaline Message Board
I'm hoping to find a connection with family in this area or someone that might be able to point me in the right direction. My Dad's mum died when he was 5 years old, unfortunately we don't know much about the McKeown / O'Leary family in Cork.
My grandmother was Emily Bond nee McKeown born Cork1892, she died approximately two weeks after the birth of her fourth son, January 1920 at Ringaskiddy in Cork. She married Peter Leo Bond born 1892, Dublin. Emily and her sister Julia went to Derbyshire UK to work as did my grandfather Peter, that is where they met.
Where can I find passenger info for her departure from Ireland to England?
She returned to Cork around 1916 with her two little boys George and Joseph (my dad) as Peter joined WW1. Can you advised where I can find a passenger list for her departure from England and arrival in Ireland?
I haven't been able to find where Emily is buried in Cork, her mother Julia Teresa McKeown nee O'Leary and Winifred Suffell, Emily's sister are buried with Winifred's husband Frederick and son Leonard at Barnahely Cemetery in Cork. Can anyone advise if there is an online cemetery search that I could possibly use to locate my grandmother's burial place.
Emily's parents were Robert McKeown born 1849, Tyrone and Julia Teresa O'Leary born 1864 Cork.
Their children were
William George 1880
Mary Agnes 1882
Julia Teresa 1885 - went to USA and married surname Lees
Genevieve 1887
Elizabeth 1890
Wilhelmina 1891
Emily 1892
Winifred 1896
Francis 1898
Robert Alpheus 1898
Vincent Patrick 1900
My great grandfather Robert McKeown was working at Haulbowline in Cork in the Government stores according to the 1901 Census. By 1911 he had passed away, I'm not sure if he passed away 1903 or not and I haven't been able to find his burial place either.
Any assistance and family connections would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Cath
Ireland was part of England at the time and traveling was very much like stepping on a bus in the sense that it often went unrecorded. If they traveled over Liverpool www.familysearch.or might have some passengers records but the chance is great such a record does not exist.
I did find the death record for Robert mcKeown on www.irishgenealogy.ie civil records he died 17 Jan 1911 in Ringaskiddy, he died of chronic brochitis and Emily McKeown was the informer of his death, see https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_retu…; No place of burial mentioned
Emily Bonds death in 1920 is also recorded on the same site but unfortunately no original image available
The best site to locate graves is Historic Graves http://historicgraves.com/county/cork
Hope this helps
