Deasy Family, Kinsale

www.irishgenealogy.ie has church records for Kinsale parish. I did not locate a marriage record for John and Catherine but there are six baptismal records in Kinsale for children of John and Catherine. There is a John in 1824 and another John in 1832. Possibly two couples with the same names?

Yes I have the baptismal records for John and Catherine's children.  That seems to be as far back as records go. I am hoping to connect with people who are doing research on the same family.  YDNA tests show that on the Deasy line we are from West Cork and I know Clonakilty is the Deasy heartland of Cork.  What I can't find is how the Kinsale branch connects to the Clonakilty branch. Anthea - with regard the two John's in 1824 and 1832 there is a possibilty that the first John (1824) may have died and the next boy was named John (1832). In the 1800's and early 1900's there was a very high rate of infant mortality in Ireland. I had a situation where I had two grandaunts with the same first name but upon investigation I discovered they were twins both with the same first christian name and different second christian names - one of them died six days after been born. Therefore if you check on www.genealogy.ie civil records you may find further information about the two John's. Hopefully this will assist you - Regards, Michael
