Im looking for information concerning family members of Patrick Conway and Margaret Conway (nee; McNamara) who lived in Tralee from somewhere around 1825 until approx. 1845-1850. They had three children that im certain of John 1833, Patrick 1841 and Eugene 1852 all emmigrated to the US in 1858, 1862, 1868 respectively. All their death certificates state their parents were Patrick Conway and Margaret McNamara and only John and Patrick state they were born in Tralee. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi conwaygang, you have probably already found the marriage online which seems to belong to your ancestors Patrick and Margaret
on 3 February 1838
Parish/Church/Congregation - BALLYBUNION
Area - KERRY (RC)
Patrick's address is given as Dromin.
There are 9 returns for the townland of Dromin in Griffith's Valuation
If Patrick's baptism 1841 belongs to this Patrick & Margaret the townland given in the Church records is Clash in Causeway RC Parish.
There is only one entry for a Patrick Conway in 1852 in Kerry (Note that the Poor Law Union is Tralee)

It would be worthwhile to check the Civil Registration death records which are also free online at irishgenealogy.ie although given the time frame Patrick and Margaret's deaths may not be recorded.
Is there a possibility that they went to the States also?
It would be unusual if they only had 3 children unless Margaret died young so it might also be worthwhile to search the marriage records for Children of a Patrick Conway marrying after 1848. You may be very lucky and find the mother's name listed also.
I hope these suggestions help you a little. Do let us know if you find anything.

Oh my god i am so grateful for the quick response. In just the past hour I found Eugene Patrick Janet and James however i have yet to find John who possibly could be Jeremiah. Themarriage is possible in 1838 as i believe John may have different mom than his siblings I will be checking this innthe near future as Ibeill be receiving a DC from Illinios

My apologies for my typing ability That last line should read:The marriage was possible in 1838 in which case i believe John may have a different mom than his siblings I will be checking this in the near future as I'll be receiving a DC from Illinios
In Addition how did you find a death date for Margaret I have no such citation You stated 1848 I have searched the civil registration records in Irishgenealogy.ie and find nothing.

Martine Pardon my ignorance You say Dromin is this a Townland , Barony in the parish of Ballybunion? I am not familiar with the properties structure with Ireland. In the states we have towns within counties and villages within those towns. Is this similar to your structure? If so than Balybunion to my understanding would be the township within County Kerry and Dromin would be the village within the town. Is that kind of the situation. If the townland is the village than what is a barony?

Thank you for the link I now have a better understanding of the land structure. I would also like to thank you for the information before, it has led me in the right direction. I was not aware of the marriage in Ballybunion. Patrick was indeed born in Causeway. What I have found since our last encounter was that Patrick and Margaret lived in Clashmelcon. Checking further into the records you directed me to, I found that they had two sons besides Patrick, Eugene and James as well as a daughter Janet. Searching Patrick Sr further in those records I find he had a son John with a Mary Joy. All the dates seem to align with those I have for DOB.
A search further found a post in findagrave.com. Eugene died in Illinois1919 and a post stated that he was the 4th son of Patrick and Margaret. Eugene was the 4th. son born to Patrick Conway & Margaret Mc Namara at Clashmealcon Causeway Kerry Ireland. After his fathers death in 1847 the local landlord Wilson Gun of Rattoo evicted the family from their farm and home in Clashmealcon. This farm they had held for many generations. In 1867 Eugene immigrated to Cook County Illinois to join his brothers John,Patrick & James.
Interestingly this adds more questions. How many generations? Is it possible McNamara lived in Dromin not Conway as there is a Griffith valuation for Patrick McNamara in Dromin? Did the family move to a workhouse or possibly stay with neighbors? I found a baptismal for a neighbor child in 1848 with Margaret as a sponsor. Was she still alive if so where would they have gone? I would hope they stayed together. 1852 Griffith valuation shows vacant properties in the area owned by Wilson Gun in Clashmelcon is one of these the property? I would guess yes as this was during the famine and checking history this area was affected, so re issuing the land would have been hard to do if it wasn’t producing crop.
Still searching but any help you can provide would be appreciated. thank you again for your insights

The eviction may have been written up in the newspaper if you have all your questions ready a day or weeks sub might work for you.

The death records of any one who stayed in Kerry might be found in irishgenealogy.ie
May I suggest that you also search for marriages for all the sibs as you may then be able to find them in the Census.
You have been busy! Let us know how you get on.
Happy New Year
