I'm been researching Luke Rickard and Ann Duignan of Killaconnigan/Kildalkey. They had one son (that I have a record for), my great grandfather Thomas. He was baptised in 1858 in Kildalkey and died in 1938 in Shallon, Co. Dublin. The only record I have for his mother Ann Duignan is a transcript of his baptismal record. I am unsure as to whether my grandfather Luke may have married twice. As such I can find no other definite siblings for my grandfather Thomas.
My grandfather Thomas was baptised in Kildalkey church as this was the family church (it was built by Fr. John Rickard), however, my Grandmother told me that he was from Ballivor and not Kildalkey. I have no idea where Luke or Ann might be buried and I would love to find out.
I would love to hear from anyone who may be able to shed light on this matter.

Hi Laoch,
Like you I couldn't find any siblings for Thomas on www.rootsireland.ie/
However there is a marriage of Luke & Ann in 1873 which is too late!:
Date of Marriage:25-Feb-1873
Parish / District:TRIM
County:Co. Meath
Husband
WifeName:LukeRickard
AnneDuigenanAddress:
Denomination:Roman Catholic
Roman CatholicThere are 2 burial records for Thomas but they are 1872 & 1847!
There are 3 for Luke: 1863 (Ballivor), 1872 (Kildalkey) & 1908 (Kildalkey)
There are 2 for Ann but way too early.
There are no Rickards or Duigans in the 1851 Census in Kildare!!
If they were R C the National Library has the parish registers available to search free at https://registers.nli.ie/; they have Balliver B D & M's
The Irish phone book has 12 Rickards in Dublin but none in Meath www.118.ie/

Hi Col,
Thanks for your help. I found that marriage too on rootsireland, but there doesn't seem to be a civil record to match which is quite strange.
I have Thomas' burial - he's in the family cemetery with my Gt Granny. The three Luke's you found, I too found while constructing in my various (not-yet connected Rickards) trees. 1872 Luke seems to be a bit of a mystery. 1908 Luke could be a possibility (if Ann died and Luke remarried that is). I have a lot on 1863 Luke (he's an uncle of 1908 Luke) including his will which only mentions a son, Luke (I'm still working on figuring out which one this is).
I'll keep looking, something might pop up!
