I am searching for ancestors that came from Ireland and descendants of those who stayed in Ireland. I have found information on a great-grandfather: Hugh Patrick Friel. Born March 14, 1869 to father Hugh Friel and mother Giley McFadden. I had originally had a birthdate of March 27, 1869  and May 27, 1869 in other information I have gotten from ancestry.com. The ancestry.com hint said they were from Kilmacrenan, County Donegal, Barnes Lower. I was on another Donegal website with some genealogy information. I was able to find the parents names on a marriage registration for a Teague Friel to a Mary Murray for Jan 30 1898 and a possible brother James Friel.

Other information I have encountered said he immigrated to the US and arrived in 1891 to Philadelphia, PA aboard the vessel Lord Zgroff. I am trying to verify that any of the above happens to be the correct Hugh Friel as I see this is a very popular name in the census records. I was not able to find any record of the mentioned parents above in the 1901 census and did not see anything in the death records on the Donegal website.

A marriage record from the US said he married Anna Sweeney on Oct 27, 1909 in McDonald, PA. He lived in Vancouver, Washington and Pittsburgh, Pa. All that information is correct according to my mom as she knew about him.

I will continue to look through records on this site and others, but any directions or information anyone is able to provide would be much appreciated. I had looked a it last year but was a bit frustrated at trying to find any information from when he was in Ireland. The Donegal site I found the other night was very encouraging though. Thank you for assistance you can provide for me.
