Samuel McKean and Sarah McKnight

I had a look for the McKean - McKnight marriage and baptisms on www.rootsireland.ie/, findmypast.ie/ and Family Search but had no luck I'm afraid.

Donegal records are not in any of the early Irish Censuses (1821, 31 or 41); the earliest is 1851 & I assume they were in the states by then.

Do you happen to know whether they were R C, Presbyterean or C of I?

we have a James Birney (b.abt-1811) his brother, Charles born abt 1810 and a sister Mary

born abt 1820ish in county Donegal and place of birth on one, is Ramelton.

Looked up Ramelton, only found ramelton.net site..are they completely on their own?

Looked to possible be parish Tullyaughnism? Not sure..probably Presbyterian, guessing though....

If this is so, where can we find the births? JamesBirney  married Jane Elliott b.abt 1820 in Ireland . They migrated to America about 1845 to Phildelphia,Pennsylvania

then to Iowa,Scott county as a farmer/children...James died in 1881 in Iowa

There are no birth / baptism records on rootsireland for James or Mary.

There is one for Charles but there are no records of any siblings for him.

No Birney - Elliot marriage records in any county.

The National Library R C registers (free online) have Ramelton records starting in 1873 & none for Tullyaughnish 

The Representative Church Body Library in Dublin has C of I Tullyaughnish BMD records from 1798 but they don’t do lookups
