Barry-Riordan; County Cork

With your assistance I have been able to piece together the attached Barry-Riordan family tree. We have solid information to support Catherine McHugh ( Barry), Timothy Barry, Ellen Barry (Riordan) based on dialogue. Could you assist confirming outside the circle of the above already confirmed via birth, marriage, or verbal record.

Mat(t)hew Riordan and Ellen Butler produced a daughter Ellen Riordan baptism July 22, 1841 in County Cork, Midleton, Ballinascarty. Listed informants were Michael Fleming and Mary Higgins.

Ellen Riordan had, at minimum, the following siblings Frances born Aug 2 1835, Catherine b. 1844 and Matthew b. 1853.

Timothy Barry and Ellen Riordan were married October 22, 1871 in County Cork, Midleton Union, Diocese Cloyne at the Roman Catholic Chapel of Midleton. Timothy was listed as a Widower at the time of marriage with an occupation of Laborer and a residence of Blackrock, Cork City. Timothy’s father is listed as Edmund Barry, living at the time of marriage, with an occupation of Laborer. Ellen’s residence at the time of marriage was listed as Ballinacurra, Midleton with an occupation of none. Ellen’s father is listed as Matthew Riordan, living at the time of marriage, with an occupation of Laborer.

Timothy Barry and Ellen Riordan produced a daughter Catherine (Katherine / Kate) Barry born December 24th 1877 in Ballintemple, Cork City. The civil parish and roman catholic parish for Ballintemple would be St. Finbar's. Timothy’s occupation was listed as laborer.

Catherine Barry immigrated to the United States (1898 to1900) and married Thomas McHugh. Thomas and Catherine were married on November 2nd, 1903 in Haverhill, MA United States. The marriage is also registered in Lynn, MA records.

Thomas and Catherine’s residence listed as 3 High Rock Terrace, Lynn, MA (rented) on 1903 to 1910 birth records of children.

The 1910 US Census record has Thomas and Catherine’s residence listed as 21B Hutchinson Court, Lynn, MA (rented). Thomas immigrated in 1890. Catherine immigrated in 1898. Occupation is listed as Cutter Shoe Factory. 

The 1920 US Census record has Thomas and Catherine’s residence listed as 60 Howard St. Lynn, MA (rented). Thomas immigrated in 1895. Catherine immigrated in 1900. Occupation is listed as Cutter Shoe Factory. 

Catherine died 1929 at the age of (52) with burial at Saint Joseph Cemetery, Lynn, MA.

The 1930 US Census record has Thomas (widowed) residence listed as 22 Friend St. Lynn, MA (rented). Thomas immigrated in 1891. Occupation is listed as Cutter Shoe Factory. 

The 1940 US Census record has Thomas (widowed) residence listed as 44 Timson St. Lynn, MA (rented). Thomas immigrated in 1891. Occupation is listed as Cutter Shoe Factory. 

Thomas died June 5, 1947 at the age of (75) with burial at Saint Joseph Cemetery, Lynn, MA.
