Hi! Thank you in advance for your time.
I am trying to locate information regarding my great-great-grandmother, Mary Anne Brennan who left Dublin to come to Paterson, NJ, USA around 1870. She was born in Dublin to James Brennan and Mary Powers Brennan around Mar 1845.
One thing I don't understand is...I have a baptismal record from St. Michan for the Margaret Mary McMurtrie baptized 12 Jan 1875, parents being Charles McMurtrie (American) and Mary Anne Brennan McMurtrie. I can't imagine they would have had the money to travel from the US to Dublin and back but they apparently did. (although I can not locate any travel records for them). They were both back in the USA according to 1880 USA Census but apparently their daughter, Margaret Mary died prior to 1880 since she was not listed on the census
I would be very interested in knowing if my Mary Anne Brennan had other brothers and sisters and if any information about her parents is available.
I will be coming to Dublin on 3/21 and would also appreciate your recommendations on how I can appreciate my great-great-grandmother's journey to America or connect with my Irish family in Dublin, if possible.
Thanks again for this wonderful service. Maureen

YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!! Thank you so much, Col! Mary Anne named her 2 daughters Frances and Teresa! And a Fanny Brennan was the sponsor for her daughter, Fanny's baptism. I can't tell you how long I have been searching for this info..... But then, you didn't locate a baptismal certificate for Mary Anne even though the marriage date and the other children fit with what I know. Thank you for researching this info and responding so promptly. SIncerely, Maureen
