I found a 1901 census record which had a 12 year old Minnie Murphy. Is this the correct family?

Hi Roger,

Yes, that's my ancestors census many thanks. Unfortunately there are no Parish records in Enniskeane and as I don't know my great-grandmother's maiden name, I have been unable to get birth certificates for anyone.  I have a marriage certificate for Michael Murphy my grandfather indicating his father's name was Timothy and was a teacher.   I would be grateful if you could advise on where I should search next. Thank you for your assistance.

This looks to be the civil marriage record (second on page). Shows Timothy as a labourer but I note that he could sign his name but Catherine could not. Fathers names are shown.

You can use www.irishgenealogy.ie to find the civil birth records for the children although the suname Murphy will complicate the search.

Im wondering would you be possibly related to my Murphys which were from Kilnacranagh west area in the 1901 census.
My g grandfather was Daniel Murphy and his father was Thomas Murphy.Thomas was down as deceased in Daniels marriage cert of the late 1890s to a Margaret Donovan.
I have been unable to find Thomas death cert and also cant find any siblings of Daniel.Im on ancestry and have a gedmatch no.also.

My records show my g.grandfather Timothy Murphy from Castletown married my g.grandmother Catherine Lane from Kinniagh in 1880. 1901 census shows the family in Enniskeane with 4 children, Patrick, Minnie, Kate [Maggie] & Michael my grandfather. I found relatives via Ancestry DNA with relatives matching yours but we haven't figured out how we are related yet. My email is flanagan.fionnuala@gmail.com
