Hello I have Martin Mahon 1801 - 1864 from York in Galway, who married Mary Anne Burke 1819 - 1879. They had a son Owen born 1837 and who died in Greenock 1913. Any help or information would be very appreciated :-)

Hi Niki- Absolutely never heard of anyplace called York in Galway. With the surname Mahon it is more likely to be GORT,County Galway-. Check out the Gort parish registers on NLI.IE- Liam Irwin.

Ok thank you Liam, I wondered whether it was a district in the town of Galway? Clearly not, so there has been a mistake in translation somewhere. I shall look out for Gort parish registers, thank you so much :-)
