Hello, it would be most appreciated if you could find any information on my great-great -great grandparents Martin Daley and his wife Bridget nee Power. Their son Richard (or John) Daley of County Wexford married Mary Ann Mulrooney (originally from County Carlow) in Ballarat ,Victoria Australia in 1857. On Richard and Mary Ann’s marriage certificate it stated that his father Martin was a chemist. Thank the you in anticipation, Therese Moloney

Therese:
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Only about 25% of the Co. Wexford RC parishes are on Roots Ireland and when I searched for baptismal records for children of Martin Daley, I got no record. I then searched on FindMyPast.ie (another subscription site) and did not find the record at that site and I looked at a number of variant names for Richard and John Daley. Possibly the church of his baptism no longer has records back to the 1830s when he was likely baptized.
You may want to add the story of Richard/John to our XO Chronicles site and maybe someone will recognize the family https://www.irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy/ancestor-dat…
Also, have you considered autosomal DNA testing?

Hi Roger, thank you for your prompt reply. I will put their details on the XO Chronicles. I have taken the AncestryDNA test and I have been matched with Daley relatives but all from Australia, so far. Hopefully in the future there will be a Daley ancestor from Ireland. I’m visiting Ireland in May and will be visiting County Wexford. Many thanks, Therese
