Hello, this is my first time of posting
My interest in Ballynure stems from the fact that my Grandfather Edward Barrett who was born in Kilcullen emigrated to England as a child, he married their, he and his wife opened a creamery in Liscard (New Brighton) and it was named "Ballynure"
My wife and I visted the area known as Ballynure but all there seems to be there is a small church on the hill.
I am assuming "Ballynure" has some connection with my Grandads family (Barrett), my GGrandmother was a Kavanagh born in Ballymore Eustace

Hello, I am looking at old queries and it is not unusual for people to call their house after something to remember their birthplace or special about their home area, happens still. So I assue the place meant something, I located the marrige in Kilcullen in 1873, 11th September and her address in Yellow Bog which is Yellowbog and is close to Ballynure on the Wicklow border, you can see the townlands here https://www.townlands.ie/ these are civil divisions.
Obviously the place meant something or maybe they knew it was an unusual name but easy to say for a business etc
