Hi, I"m still searching the Dillon family from Magheralin.  One son that didn't leave was Anthony Dillon jr he mairried Ellen Blair.  Would love to find and make connect with his family.  The surnames are Beattie, Maginn, Kirkwood, Humphries.

plus two daughter of Anthony snr married McKee who went to USA, and Maxwell.

Any help would be great.

  • I can see 3 children in the statutory records, born to Anthony & Ellen. Un-named female born 25.8.1865, un-named female born 8.1.1869 and Alfred 10.12.1871.

    Anthony was a farmer in Ballymakeonan. Family in 1901:

    Probate abstract from PRONI website:

    Probate of the Will of Anthony Dillon late of Maralin, Co. Down, Farmer, who died 30 March 1920 granted at Belfast 21 June 1920 to Rev. Canon Thomas William Clarendon, Clerk and David Kirkwood, Schoolmaster. Effects: £235 0s 0d.

    The will itself should be in PRONI in paper format and is likely to name his children and perhaps their children.
