I'm interested in finding information on the surnames of Brown (Demoan townland) and Truesdale (Carrickbrack townland) circa mid 1800's. The Truesdale family may also be in County Down.

There are no Brown households listed in Demoan nor any Truesdales in Carrickbrack in the tithe applotment records for 1830. That doesn’t mean they didn’t live there as the tithes only listed those with land but they weren’t farmers there then.
Griffiths Valuation for 1864 has no Browns in Demoan and no Truesdales in Carrickbrack. Likewise in the 1901 census. (In the 1901 census there were 14 households in Demoan and 16 in Carrickbrack, so small communities).
If your ancestors are recorded on a marriage or birth certificate in either townland, I would guess they were labourers or weavers who only lived there a comparatively short time. Weavers and labourers often held short leases (or even no lease) so they could move around to follow available work. They can be hard to trace.

Elwyn - Yes, on the marriage record, the groom, John Truesdale, his father William Truesdale and the bride's father William Brown were all listed as a laborers and they are indeed difficult to pin down. Thank you for looking.
Col - The William Brown family were Presbyterian and William's daughter Mary Brown (b. abt 1831) and John Truesdale (b. 25 March 1839) were married on 1 March 1861 in Poyntzpass Prebyterian Church, Ballymore Parish. Could you check for a birth/baptism for John Truesdale in County Down for me? John's father was William Truesdale, not positive about the family's religion. Thank you.
