Hi Ballina family!

I was was hoping to get a photo of a headstone in the Templeachally Cemetery, and any burial records available. I know the location of the grave within the cemetary from visits of long ago, so there wouldnt be a great amount of time searching for it. :)  Also, I would like to contact the current owners of the land & house that my family owned in Ballycorrigan.

Thanks!
Erin

  • Christina...Thanks so much! I did locate a transcription there.

Any there are volunteers in that area who take a digital photos? My last visit to Ballina was 15+ years ago and the 35mm negative does not scan well enough for a decent printed image. Also wondering about burial records for those that do not have a gravestone or one that is so aged that it cant be transcribed.  If memory serves me correctly, there are other (older) stones in the plot for family members who arent included on the transcribed stone.

    Thanks again!

Hopefully the fact that it is on Facebook will give results.

    Best of luck.

  • I am also wondering where I can find photographs of this cemetery. As far as I know, here are my old relatives on my mother's side. I often heard about them, but I don't even have photos of that time. Observing their tombstones would be an opportunity to see at least something physical that would remind me of them. I am writing about it here because, unfortunately, I cannot visit them personally, although I really want to. Also, as a historian, I would be interested to see how old gravestones differ from modern slant headstones.
