Theresa, do you know what town or village your ancestors came from? My Green ancestors lived in Castletownroche.
There are several Irish DNA groups on Facebook. One is called Irish DNA Registry. Another is County Cork DNA Chat. You might be able to find some DNA matches on those or other pages.

Theresa:
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I checked the subscription site Roots Ireland and the free site www.irishgenealogy.ie and did not see an O'Brien/Ivers marriage record.
I also looked for a John O'Brien baptismal record with a mother with the surname Green and located two records. See below.

Hello Theresa, It is unlikely, but not impossible, that there is a connection between our families but I wanted to write because I believe my fourth great grandmother was an Elenor Evis (variant spellings: Ellen Eves, Nel Ives, and Ellen Yves) of Bandon Road. Elenor married a Daniel Lucy at St. Finbarr's RC Church in the South Parish on Dunbar Street in Cork on 20 Aug 1786. One of the grandchildren of this marriage, born in the same parish circa 1826, was named Ellen Lynch, presumably after her maternal grandmother,. Unfortunately, I have not been able to go back beyond Elenor in the Evis, Eves, Ives, Yves family to identify whether she had any brothers who would have carried the family name forward. Perhaps something will come of this post with respect to variant spellings of your great great grandmother.
With best regards,

dear jill, roger and greatgrands, thankyou for the info. i joined cork dna chat and am waiting to run the matchbox!!!! john was born in 1836ish, married ellen ivors when she was 18 yrs old, his second maraige., and later lived in yorkshire.
her and 2 of their children were born in cork county. edward and isabella brien, about 1874 on. just starting research into the green name and it may take a while to solve that branch. Pairing my dna matches to the 1800's family tree is proving more difficult than thought,
i am impressed you have street names ! the spellings of ivors varies in records everywere, ancesry.com and findmypast.com do interchange the info usually though. hope you have a great wk end all, thankyou........theresa f
