My ggggrandfather Andrew McDonnell was baptized in the R.C. Church in Leighlin Bridge in 1823. The sponsors were Andrew McDonnell presumably his grandfather, and Sarah Wall.
There was a street address on the ledger but I could not make it out. He came to Canada in 1846.
The story is that he ran away from home when he was 12. He had been late for school, had broken a window and knew he was going to get a beating from his father. He hid in a tin smiths cart. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I found a record showing Andrew’s baptism in 1823, father Michael McDonnell, mother Catherine Corkery, Sponser was Andrew McDonnell and Sarah Wall. Microfilm 04195/01 page 82. Feb. 1823. There were other McDonnells mentioned in the record who lived on the same address. Are any of them related? Andrew built a home and farmed 3 acres in Low, Quebec. Family are spread all over Canada and the U.S. The name was changed over the years to McDonald.
