Hi,
I am looking for George Sparling (c. 1768-1818), and John Sparling (c. 1726-1786), both of Limerick.
Thank you for any assistance you may provide.

Dear Cyndi:
Welcome to the Ireland Reaching Out programme.
You might note that George Sparling was baptised on 28 August 1768 in Rathkeale, County Limerick. He was the son of John Sparling and Catherine (maiden name not listed) and they were Church of Ireland. The townland for one of his sibling's baptism was noted as Killehene.
It appears that George was one of at least 9 children born to John and Catherine. You can find all of their baptism records on the Roots Ireland website at the link below:
You might note that the Roots Ireland website is a subscription site, but that you can take out a subscription by a daily, monthly or yearly basis.
In addition, you might check the Historic Graves website for any headstones associated with this family. Their website is below:
If you need any further assistance, please let us know.
Kind regards,
Jane.

Cyndi,
I have been doing some research of German Palatine families who settled in Rathkeale. The Sparling name was among those listed. So it is likely that somewhere in this line was the original Protestant emigrant from Germany. There is quite a bit of information online if you were not already in possession of this info. I believe there is also a German Palatine Heritage Center near Rathkeale that might be able to provide information. Hope that helps.
