I'm looking for any information about a Cornelius O'Sullivan who emigrated to Victoria, Australia via Abberton. The ships's list has named him "Connor" and his wife Julia as "Judith". Accompanying them were 4 children under 10 years of age, and 4 adult children, the oldest was 23 years.
When Cornelius died in 1878, several obituaries stated he was from Mallow, Co. Cork, and that his longevity (101 years) was attributed to walking 4 miles to church. I believe he was a farmer in the Kilmore and Bylands areas of Victoria, Australia. His death record confirms the names and ages of his 8 children (4 boys, 4 girls), his wife was Julia McAuliffe, and parents Denisi & Bridget.
Our interests include his townland in or near Mallow market town. What was Cornelius; profession or means of living, When and where was he married? Any known siblings or cousins in Co. Cork or elsewhere?
Regards and thanks

Jane,
Attached is from my compiling of records for Kelleher, Sullivan, Callaghan in the Donoughmore, Grenagh & Mallow triangle. You will find a couple of entries for Cornelius Sullivan on Griffiths Valuation. http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/. He may have been in Laharan, Kilcorney, Millstreet or among the Sullivans of Laharan, Kilshannig, Mallow. I do not have enough historical understanding to explain the Laharan Mallow vs the Laharan Kilcorney but I would suspect these sections meet on the parish map somehow. https://goo.gl/maps/QjyviVMaoFu
