Hello, Happy to join. On 8 May 1855, Cornelius Mahoney married Mary Harrington in the RC Ballyclough Parish. Witnesses were Abby Carroll and Norry Connors. Cornelius and Mary had five children born in the Ballyclough Parish: John (1856), Johanna (1857), James (1860, my ancestor), Mary (1862), and Patrick (1865). We visited Ballyclough, the beautiful church, and Cecilstown in 2011. Would love to connect with any who may be connected.

I have Mahoney ancestors from Cork. I am unsure if our lines connect, as it is a common surname. You are welcome to look at my family tree. If you have done a DNA test, you can compare to mine. My line traces back to Denis Mahoney. Here is his marriage record:

We think Denis Mahoney would have been born around 1790, possibly in Ballydehob. Denis Mahoney and Mary Swanton's children that I have on record are: William, Ellen, Mary and Catherine (1813-1819). In records, we have found spelling variations: Mahoney, Mahony, Mahaney and Mahanney
