Taylor family emigrated from Sligo about 1829 to Canada. Parents Edward and Catharine. Children: Eliza bc1813,
Rebecca bc 1815, Edward bc 1817, Arthur bc?, John bc 1821,Catharine bc?, Ann bc 1826, James bc?,William bc 1829.
They all came about 1830 except Edward who emigrated in c1847 and died at Grosse Ile, Quebec with wife Sarah. Their 2 children Sarah bc1840 Ireland and James bc 1842 Ireland went to live with grandmother Catharine and Uncle John Taylor in North Elmsley Township, Lanark county, Canada West.
I have been unable to trace them in Ireland. If anyone can help, thank you. Jeannette

I checked for possible baptism for the children mentioned in the online records for Co. Sligo, but unfortunately nothing promising showed up. There were some Taylor baptism records during the right timeframe but just one where the father's name was Edward, but the mother's name was Maria/Mary. No sign of any Edward Taylor marriage around the right time in Co. Sligo either...
It seem likely that they lived in the parish which either does not have record going back far enough, or the registers are not available online. Do you know what denomination your Taylor family were ?
Most the the Catholic records are now online, but records for other denominations are not as well represented.
I found a possible match for a William born in Ireland of about the right age on the Canadian 1871 census in Parry Sound, Ontario which shows him as Church of England (i.e. Anglican)..is this your William ?Shane Wilson, IrelandXO Volunteer ☘
