I am researching family connections to the Joyce/O'Malley/Carr families of Kilgeever Parish in County Mayo, Ireland. My ancestor is William Carr, my 2nd Great Grandfather on my maternal line. William Carr born in 1841 lived in the townland of Carrownisky, district of Aillemore in County Mayo and appears in both the 1901 and 1911 Ireland census. He married Mary Catherine Malley in 1866 and they had six children.
Their son, Michael Fracis Carr, my great grandfather was born on April 15, 1869, in Kilgeever, Mayo, Ireland, his father, William, was 28 and his mother, Mary, was 26. He married Ellen Theresa Joyce on October 22, 1895, in Framingham, Massachusetts. They had 14 children in 22 years. He died in 1938 in Framingham, Massachusetts, at the age of 69.
I would love to hear from anyone who might know about these families and their ties to County Mayo.
Planning a trip to County Mayo in 2020. Would enjoy hearing from anyone local knowing about these families.

I am trying to find my ancestors. My Great Great Aunt married Patrick Joyce. Her name was Catherine Cussack (SP?) She had a sister named Mary who was married to Gavin or Gavan. Any information would be helpful.

My great grandmother Mary O'Malley was from Inishturk and my great grandfather John Davitt from Kilgeever. They moved to Clinton MA and had 3 children, Mary, James & Ceilia.
