Hi Danny,
Larah is a small village & townland. As their dates are before civil registration 1864 for Catholics, there will be gaps in the information you can find. However, you could look at RootsIreland (fee paying) and see can you find any other family with the same surnames. Tate would not be a common name so should be easy to build up some small family trees and make links, then using civil registration you should find the marriages and deaths. This following is a free source though all images are not available at https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/ You can also utilise all the resources on another free site http://www.genealogy.nationalarchives.ie to track wills, census etc. I had a quick look at the Census for 1901 & there are 16 Tates, all but the one in Mountnugent would be quite close to Larah. Now you very lucky to have is a partial census for Drung & Larah for 1821 and there are a number of Tates there. I looked up the online phone books for Tate, but there are none listed in Co. Cavan, probably because many people no longer use house phones or they keep their numbers exdirectory.
Do you know what religion they were, you could also contact the local churches and the priest or rector may be able to assist you with your query, I can get the contact details for you once their religion is established. Also look at any chain migration, ie. people who may have joined your family afterwards, this would give you more clues to as to who may have stayed behind.
If you come across more information, please let me know and I will see can I help you with it.

Hi Danny,
Go to http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/ Click on the box where the years are and select 1821 and just put Tate in as the surname & select County Cavan and press search, they should come up. These pages look like they have been transcribed twice.
