Hi, I'm looking for info on the Cassidys from Fartagorman. Edward Cassidy, son of Edward Cassidy, married Bridget Duffy in 1902 at St. Josephs Carrickmacross. Witnesses were Pete Hanratty and Maggie Marron. I can't figure out what happened to them - except I have a family letter from the 1940s - 1950s that places Bridget (who was elderly at that time) in Longford town on Ballymahon St. which is a main street in town.

I believe this Edward had a younger brother Luke who ended up inheriting the family farm. Luke had a son also named Edward who took over the farm and he died in the 1960s.

My theory is maybe Edward for some reason moved to a main street in Longford town to be a shopkeeper which is how Bridget ended up there. Or, maybe Bridget and Edward had kids and one of them had a shop there and she lived with them.

Bridget was from Magheracloone; her brother stayed there but her sisters ended up in Omaha in the US.

This Cassidy family seems impervious to my usual research methods... I can't find death records for either Bridget or Edward, records of them having etc. I can't find them on the 1911 census in *any* county, I have a potential census entry for Bridget the year before they married in 1901 but can't find Edward that year either. AFAIK neither ever emigrated so those dbs are no help either.

Grateful for any pointers or tips!!
