I am searching for more information about my maternal ancestors from Ireland and England.
MARTIN ARNOLD born 1783 in Ireland or England? (He is my 3rd great-grandfather) MARTIN had a sister MARY ARNOLD who married THOMAS OLIVER. MARTIN’S son was JAMES ARNOLD born1801 in Ireland - died Feb 26 1878, Auburn, Pa. USA. JAMES ARNOLD’S tombstone reads: Native of Templeudigan, Cty. of Wexford, Ireland. JAMES married NANCY ANN KAVANUGH she was born 1798 in County Carlow, Ireland and died Apr 20 1873 in Auburn, Pa. USA. THOMAS OLIVER is also buried in the same cemetery as JAMES ARNOLD.
JAMES ARNOLD and NANCY ANN KAVANUGH had five children born in Ireland, County Wexford; RICHARD b 1831, MARTIN b 1832, CATHERINE b 1833, ANNE ALICE b 1835 and ESTHER 1838.
RICHARD ARNOLD is listed in the “Reports From Commissiones. 1801-1826”. Vol. 121 Education in Ireland. 1826, page 808, under Appendix, No. 22 _ Parochial Returns: County of Wexford-continued, Bantry, Ferns—Templeudigan School Master R.catholic….
I have also found listed R. James Arnold and Richard J. Arnold, are they one in the same or not?

Hi Susan,
I'm sorry you have not had a reply to your post of 2nd May.
I'm not sure which sources you've tried; I searched rootsireland without success (in all counties) but could not find any of the records you are asking about I'm afraid.
The R C registers at the Nat Library (free online) have Templeudigan B M & D records but they only start in 1846!
Free UK BDM starts too late for Martin!
The Tithe Applotments 1823-37 (free at http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/) have two Arnolds - Richard & John in Wexford, parish 'Templeladiga' Twonland Ballywilliam - no year given
Griffiths Valuation (1848-64) free online has 1 Arnold in Templeudigan:

Thank you for very kindly for the information you have found regarding my ancestry searches. I will make two corrections to my original message; Mary Arnold married John Oliver not Thomas and it is Anne Kavanagh, not Nancy Ann Kavanagh.
Family history is that the Arnolds, Olivers and Keough's (Kehoes) came to America together. So I am looking for all three families in the same general geographical locations.
I tried to purchase a subscription to rootsireland and their website was having problems and there response was not useful.
I have looked at some of The Tithe Applotments and have found the Kavanaghs and Olivers but not Arnolds. I will look again as you have found them.
A year or so ago I started searching Griffiths Valuation and will go back again.
Again, thank you very much for your help.

Hi Susan - my 'Kehoe's came from Ferns Wexford.
Our Luke Kehoe b1789....his son Miles Kehoe bc1820-23 married Mary Geraghty (possibly L'pool)Luke & his family (wife Elizabeth/sons Miles/Michael/dau Bridget) appear on the 1851 census in Liverpool.
My line stems from Miles & Mary.- their chn Patrick1852/Mary1855/Sarah1857/Sarah1857/Ann1859/Elizabeth1861 and LUKE KEHOE b1869 (all b l'pool)
*I noticed 1901 census shows some 'Kehoe's still in Ferns:- Andrew & Mary Kehoe + chn James bc1893/Kate b1895/Luke bc1897/Lizzie bc1899 and William bc1900 Maybe you see a connection?
