Good afternoon fron New Zealand,

The following people left Plymouth on the 17 Aug 1874 arriving  Nelson 8 Nov 1874 on the Ocean Mail to NZ.. They all came Co Kerry.

James Casey aged 21,(1853) Farm Labourer . Is James realted to Jeremiah ?

Patrick Connell aged 19 (1855) Carpenter

Maurice Kelliher aged 23 (1851) Farm Labourer, born Tralee, parents Maurice Kehllier & Ellen Connahan

 Information taken from ceriticates in NZ, Is Maurice related Deborah ?

*Jeremiah O'Brien aged 26 (1848) Farm labourer, born Castlemaine  parents Jeremiah O'Brien & Margaret Casey

* Deborah O'Sullivan aged 22 (1852) Servant , born Castlemaine, parents  Thomas O'Sullivan & Deborah Kelliher

* the above Jeremiah & Deborah are my great grandparents, information taken from certificates & probates in NZ

What I would like to know who the parents are of James Casey & Patrick Connell if possible are as I can not find any thing on them in NZ, plus How is Maurice related to Deborah the mother of Deborah O'Sullivan.

    The free site www.irishgenealogy.ie has Co. Kerry church records. I searched for the 1852 baptismal record for Deborah O'Sullivan with the parents listed and did not find the record. I also searched for Jeremiah O'Brien and did not find a record in Castlemaine but located an 1843 record with the correct parents in the RC parish just to the east called Firies. See below.  There is a Castlefarm townland in Molahiffe civil parish.

    I also searched for the baptismal record for Maurice Kelliher and he was not baptized in Tralee but in Firies.in 1851. See second record below. Bushmount is a townland also in Molahiffe civil  parish.

    I searched for records for Patrick Connell and James Casey in Firies assuming they were from the same area and located two possible leads (see 3rd and 4th records below). I have no idea if these are the correct records. Following this approach, I searched in Firies for a Deborah O'Sullivan record and found one in 1852 with father Thomas but the mother was Johanna Reordan. See fifith record below.
