I am hoping someone can help me fing my connections in Ireland. My 2times great grandmother, Adelaide Elizabeth Alexandrina Fitzgibbon was born to Michael Fitzgibbon and Anastasia Quirk in 1839, Adelaide South Australia just on their arrival from Ireland.
Michael and Anastasia married on 6 Aug 1838 in the Llanrug Parish Church, Caernarvonshire, Wales presumably on their journey. Family lore says that Anastasia's family were not happy about this marriage. On their Marriage certificate Anastasia's Father is Matthew Quirk, clerk, and Michaels Father is Patrick, servant.
On their application for emmigration 1839 Michael is 24 and Anastasia is 25.
The only other information comes in the obituary for Adelaide which Anastasia put in the newspaper here in Sth Aust:
"Eldest daughter of Anastasia and late Michael Fitzgibbon, grandaughter of the late Matthew Quirk, Esq.,Spa, Clonmel, Ireland, and great-grandaughter of Late Sir Hammy Low, Fethard, near Clonmel." I dont think Hamilton Low (Lowe) was a sir.
On their sons death notice she put in the information that Michael was from Charnaville (Charleville?), County Limerick and herself was of Spa House, County Waterford, near Clonmel.
Anastasia buried her son in a Catholic cemetery as she was herself.
Michael and Anastasia had children named: Adelaide Eliz Alexandrina, Eliazabeth, William and Mary Ann.
This is all the information I have on Michael and Anastasia and although quite a lot ,it misses out the genertion before, especially on Anastasia's side.
Thanks Judy

Judy:
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I located Anastasia's baptismal record on the subscription site Roots Ireland. I did not see any records for siblings and did not locate the marriage record for Matthew and Mary Hacket.
Name:Anastasia QuirkDate of Birth:
Date of Baptism:06-Jul-1811Address:
Parish/District:ST MARY'S CLONMELGender:
CountyCo. Waterford
Denomination:Roman Catholic
Father:Matthew QuirkMother:Mary HacketI also looked for a Michael Fitzgibbon baptismal record. There were a couple records in Limerick city with father Patrick, however, if Michael was from Charleville, baptismal records for that parish do not start until May 1827. Likely a record does not exist.

Thank you Roger, I guess Anastasia either didn’t know her age or wanted to make herself younger. I have not been able to find any connection to Hamilton Lowe but maybe we will find out sometime. Will just have to look at the area as a whole when my husband and I come next year. Regards Judy
