Michael Brennan was baptised at the Catholic Church in Inistioge, Kilkenny in 1802.  At the Carlow Assizes in 1836 Michael was convicted for sheep stealing and was sentenced to life in Australia.  It was noted that he had a wife and two small children.  It was also noted that Michael could not read or write.  So in all probability contact with Ireland was soon lost.          My research has suggested that Michael’s wife was Judith and that the children were named Mary and Matthew. Following this I found  double wedding in 1860 where a Matthew and a Mary Brennan wed a Margaret and a Patrick Ryan in the Catholic Church in Inistioge.

Is there anyone out there who know anything about these Brennan’s?
