Looking for additional information & possible cousins of Timothy Neville, Killeagh

The 1852 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing does not show a Timothy Neville in Killeagh civil parish. The neighboring civil parish of Ardagh does show a Timothy Neville Sr. and Jr. in Carriganass townland. People in Ardagh civil parish also attended Killeagh RC parish so it is a good possibility that your family was from Carriganass. Now the Timothy Jr. shown in the Griffiths would not be the Timothy born in 1838 but likely his father and the Sr. would be his grandfather.

Looking at the subscription site Roots Ireland, I found baptismal records for two younger brothers of Timothy. See transcriptions below. Roots also had a transcription of the March 3, 1835 marriage record for Timothy Neville and Mary Magrath. See below.

The 1901 census does show four Neville households in Carriganass  http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Cork/Ardagh/Carriganass/

At the free site www.irishgenealogy.ie  I located an 1881 death record for a married Timothy Neville in Carriganass with an informant Mary. Likely your ancestor  https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_returns/deaths_1881/06437/4849649.pdf

Wow!  Thank you for the quick reply and for all of the links and additional information!  I am so happy to know the town from which my ancestor came.  The additional documents are so exciting to see!  We had no idea about his brothers!

There are Nevilles in an 1766 census of Ardagh Parish and some buried in the graveyard at Ardagh but there  are no records for that time period to seperate the different families.

Hi Michele, If you go to google maps and search for Carriganassa Co Cork. you will be able to get a satellite and street view of the surrounding countryside.
