Hello!!!!
I'm trying to find out/confirm if my great great grandmother MARGARET GEOGHEGAN was born in MOYVORE-WESTMEATH.
I'm from Argentina, and here all I found is, that she was born in Ballahurra in 1841. And searching on internet it seems Ballahurra & Moyvore Parishes, are the same. She came to our country with her mother in 1853, and married JOHN MORAN, born in Longford 1835. John may have had a brother, BERNARD MORAN, born in 1850
Thanks in advance, for any help.
Regards,
Silvia

Welcome back to Ireland Reaching Out!
I did not find a baptismal record for a Margaret Geoghegan in the Moyvore RC records around 1841 on the subscription site Roots Ireland. There was an 1856 record but that is too late for your ancestor. I was unable to locate Ballahurra. Do you have a document that shows that place name? Thanks!

Ballahurra is also called Ballacura or Ballinacurra - Ballyhara in the Tithe Applotments (1834). It is the townland where the current Moyvore parish church was built, around 1835. It is also on the edge of the Digby estate - local protestant curate and landowner, who employed many local catholic Irish, and housed them on his estate. There are no Geoghans in the area in either the Tithe Applots. (1834) or Griffiths Valuations (1854)
