Hi, I am looking for information about my great great grandparents John Harkin born 1840 and Anne Gallagher born about 1840 from County Donegal. I have found birth and baptismal records for their children, GraceHarkin, my great grandmother, born 1872, John Harkin born 1874 and Patrick Harkin born 1876 all in Laghy, Donegal. I would appreciate any information about where else I could find out more about them. Thanks

I checked the free site www.irishgenealogy.ie and found the 1866 civil marriage record for the parents. The name of Anne's father is shown but John has "widow" Harkin so his father was deceased.
I also found civil birth records for Grace in 1870 Patrick in 1872 and John in 1873.
I did not see the family in the 1901 census. Did they emigrate?

I know that Grace, my great great grandmother emigrated. She lived in Charlestown (part of Boston) Massachusetts. Also Patrick my great great uncle did because he was listed in one census as living with Grace and her husband William Bambury. I cannot find any record of her parents Anne and John immigrating to the US.

I searched the free site www.irishgenealogy.ie for death records for the parents with no success. Feel free to see if you have more success. Use Donegal as the registration district.
