Hi I have found a possible birth record for my tw time great grandfather James Gorman, born 1811. Please see the attached image.
The mother's name seems to be Byrn, the second sponsor is either Byrn or Ryan. They are indexed on various sites as Byrn, Byrne , Byron and Ryan. Could you please comment from your local knowledge on which you think is the correct name for each?
I was told that at the time Stradavoher was the "Irish town" of Thurles where the poorest Gaelic speaking Irish lived. Is this correct?
