Patrick Brien (about 1830, birth unknown) married Ellen Murphy (parents - John Murphy & Catherine Roach) on 20 Sept 1851 in Glanworth. They had six children: Mary Brien: bpt. Fermoy Union Workhouse RC Parish Co. Cork, 04 Jul 1852, sponsors: Thomas Murphy, Catherine Fleming; Catherine A. Brien: bpt. Fermoy Union Workhouse RC Parish, 28 Dec 1853, sponsors – John McDonnel & Mary Brien; Elizabeth Brien: bapt. Fermoy Union Workhouse RC Parish Co. Cork Ire, 04 May 1856; Sponsors: Michael Roache & Catherine Roache; Daniel Brien: bpt. Fermoy Union Workhouse RC Parish, Cork, Ire., 19 Dec 1858; Sponsors: Edmund Fitzgerald & Ellen Eagan; Ellen Teresa Brien: bpt. Glanworth RC Parish Co. Cork Ire., 22 May 1861; sponsors: Michael O’Donell and Honora Lane; John Joseph Brien: bapt. Glanworth RC Parish Co. Cork, 13 June 1863; sponsors: JohnCotter & Honora Fitchgerald. I know that Catherine, Daniel, Ellen T., John and Ellen Murphy Brien all separately immigrated into Boston Massachusetts U.S.A. in the 1880s. After immigrating to Boston family members' surnames became O'Brien.
I am searching to learn more of the history of Patrick & Ellen, as well as Mary & Elizabeth. Because Patrick did not emigrate I believe that he passed away about 1862-1865 while living in Glanworth.
Thank you for helping with my search, Janet

Hi Janet,
I totally understand trying to piece the family puzzle together. We have an Ellen Brien from Cork 1822-1892. She was married to Daniel Meany. She died in Cork. I don't have her parents. So I could not be helpful. Good luck in your search!
