From 1871 census records for Plymouth, Devon, as well as his death record, my husband's ggrandfather, George John Stewart was born circa 1837 in Clones. He was son of Thomas Stewart, labourer. There were multiple Thomas Stewarts in Co. Monaghan around that time who could have been George's father. Seeking help clarifying who was who. 1. Thomas of Cornawall (1795-1870) of Brenda Stewart's post on this board; 2. Thomas 1808-1874; 3. Thomas 1806-1876; 4. Thomas 1818-1896; 5. Thomas 1799-1890. Numbers 2-5 came from Ireland Civil Registration Indexes, 1845-1958 on Family Search. A Thomas Stewart and Cathe Dunwoody (daughter of Hugh Dunwoody & Cate Storey) had a son George Christened at Clones 8 Dec 1832. Unfortunately, no records relating to our George John state his mother's name. Can anyone provide further details on Thomases 2-5 to help separate them?
