My Great Great Grandfather Robert Montgomery and Great Great Grandmother Mary Ann Patterson were born in Coleraine, Ireland. One of their sons, Samuel Montgomery, my Great Grandfather, was born in 1852 in Coleraine and died in 1881 in Marion County, Ohio. I would appreciate any information regarding my GGG parents.

Samuel’s birth is before the start of statutory birth registration in Ireland (1864) so you won’t find a birth certificate for him. You might find his baptism but to do that you would need to know where he was baptised and what denomination.
Not all church records have survived and of those that do still exist, not all are on-line, notably with Protestant records.
I would guess that this family may have been Presbyterian or Church of Ireland. If so you would probably need to go to PRONI (the public record office) in Belfast and look up the Coleraine records there. If you can’t get there yourself there are researchers in the Belfast area who will do0 it for you. Researchers in the PRONI area: http://sgni.net
Statutory registration of non RC marriages started in Ireland in April 1845. I searched the records for 1845 – 1855 but did not find one for Robert and Mary Ann. That suggests they married prior to April 1845. Again you would need to search church records for the event. Both names are pretty common in that area. I could search for their deaths but would need a little more information about them. Be aware that there was another Montgomery/Patterson couple in the same area at the same time. A John Montgomery and Jane Patterson had a child named William on 25.5.1864 near Aghadowey (a few miles from Coleraine). So, as I say, the surnames are common in the area.
