Hi there, I'm looking for my paternal grandfather. The only information I have for him is the following and I've not been able to find him in any records: name: Edward O'Donnell (sp?), possible birth place: Cork, abt ~1918-1925), brothers John and Patrick, mother supposeldly was living in Glasgow Scotland around 1960, was known to be living/working around Blackpool England in 1943, and was a boxer with/related to the airforce. I haven't been able to track him down via Ancestry and am hoping someone has another idea I can follow-up on. Thanks!

  • another clue to O Donnell is that you mentioned Michelstown which is on the road between kilworth and Caher..... also another hint is the mentioning of a relative in England ..... i have something similar to a connelly in scotland  who matches me highly in DNA matching ... the matching of the 3 dna segements may unlock your mystery ,,,....  e connelly......also some of the Dna segments also moved out to the illinois area about 1850 and are still there

  • Hi Holly,

I have checked out the 1911 Census to see if it did show up anything of interest to you and came across an Edward O'Donnell aged 6 with a brother John aged 11. I realise that you were looking at 1918 - 1925 but you seem to be unsure of a date. There is also a man in the house called Michael O'Donnell who along with the two children is listed as a Boarder and a lady described as a widow named Kate Peed.  I will try to check the births of the two Children to see if I can find out the name of the father. Link to Census page here,    http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Cork/Cork_No__5_Urban__part_of_/High_Street/399068/
