Hello All

I am researching ancestors who both were born in County Monaghan. They had two children Patrick b. Mar 17, 1815; and James b. Nov 05, 1817.

Some reference indicates that they immigrated to PEI, Canada in 1818. However conflicting census records indicate that James was born in NB, Canada.

There is limited information on Patrick Senior, he met an untimely death upon his arrival in Canada.

I have some DNA matches through the "Woods" family in Ireland, but we have not yet found the family connection.

I appreciate any advice, information that anyone may have.

    The Descendants of Patrick McHugh McCue and Mary Woods

    Generation No. 1

    1. PATRICK MCHUGH1 MCCUE was born in County Monaghan, Ireland, and died 1818 in Cacumpec, PEI. He married MARY WOODS Abt. 1814 in Ireland. She was born 1789 in County Monaghan, Ireland, and died 26 Jan 1871 in PEI age 82.

    Notes for PATRICK MCHUGH MCCUE:

    Patrick McCue came from County Monaghan, Ireland in 1818 and landed in Cascumpec, PEI. He did not like the place so he took his wife and two sons in a small boat along the coast and around the North Cape reef and landed them in Norway, PEI. He returned alone in the small boat to Cascumpec for the remainder of their belongings. On the return trip around the reef his boat overturned and he was drowned. His body washed ashore near the Black Marsh. He was interred in the Tignish Cemetery near the green.
