Looking for parents of Timothy Hourihan, born abt.1835. Believe parents were Cornelius Hourihan and Margaret Sullivan both, born abt 1814, and living mostly in the parish of Catheragh. Timothy emmigrated to UK in1853 and enrolled in the British Royal Marines. He returned to Ireland in 1863 to marry childhood sweetheart Rebecca Daly in St Finbarr's Bantry. Spent rest of life in England. Was my Great grandfather.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I searched on the subscription site Roots Ireland and the free site www.irishgenealogy.ie and did not find a baptismal record for a Timothy Hourihan with the parents names you provided. Did not find any reocrds for siblings either.
I also did not find the 1863 marriage record in Bantry that you listed.
Let me know if you have additional information.

Notes I have about Timothy
"Timothy lived with his widowed mother Margaret at Ardnamanagh, near Ballylickey, beside Bantry Bay. In 1852 he and his widowed mother were tenants of Samuel Hutchins, who raised Arab horses. In 1853 Timothy went to Yorkshire as a groom with horses sold to an English gentleman. The new employer died suddenly and Timothy enlisted in the Royal Marines Light Infantry (RMLI) in 1854
Occupation in 1890, Private Royal Marine. In 1879 listed as Naval Pensioner, Messenger in Dockyard.1891 Census living at 44 Herbert Street, Portsmouth. In 1881 census living at 5 Hobbs Court ,Portsea.
Timothy Hourihan married Rebecca Daly at St Finbarr's Church in Bantry on 24 Jan 1863. Witnesses Denis O'Leary and Hanora Sullivan. Priest Fr. MI Shinkwin. Confirmed by Parish Priest."
He gave his parents names as Cornelius and Margaret on his Attestation when joining the Royal Marines. He also signed on with the surname Bryan and ever after was known as Timothy Hourihan (John) Bryan. He started a dynesty in England of Bryan's.
Can make my Tree available to you if you give me your email addess

One of my colleagues remined me that there is a gap in the Bantry RC marriage records from December 1857 until 1872 https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0019 which would include the 1863 marriage for Timothy. Also, civil registration of RC marriages did not start until 1864 so there will be no record for his marriage. Maybe your record was created before the register was lost for that 15 year period?
If Timothy was baptized in the Bantry church the record should be available. I looked on the free site www.irishgenealogy.ie but have not found the record.. You may want to use the site.
