Hello,
My 2nd great-grandparents on my maternal side were John and Susan (nee' Coughlin) McGuane of Kilmihil (photo attached). We thought they were McGowans but evidently John and Susan changed their name when they emigrated to New York.
John was born 13 Apr 1820 to Thomas and Bridget (nee' O'Dea) McGuane. They lived in Glenmore township. He married Susan Coughlin (b. 5 May 1821) about 1846, they had a son named Thomas 17 Jan 1847, and then moved to New York in 1848. I think John had 4 sisters,(Mary, Bridget, Lenore.and ?) and 3 brothers. I assume one was named Thomas, Unfortunately I have been unable to determine who Susan's parents were.
I may be in the Kilmihil area this spring (depends on my travelling companions) and would love to connect with family or someone who knows about family if possible,
