Slane and or Toman

The subscription site Roots Ireland had baptismal records for three children (see below). Note the third record has the mother as Tivnan but I assume that was a mistranscription? Did the family emigrate?

Thank you, Roger!  The first is my relative. This is where I am stopped. I can not get any farther back than what you see here. I appreciate you getting this information for me. 
 

James Slane is recorded as occupant of farmhouse #4a in the townland of Drumshanagh (West of Boyle town on the Sligo side) in the 1858 Griffith's Valuation.

In 1833 Arthur Toman is recorded in Drumshanagh (his brother in law). Only other surnames on record there at that time are Carty and Downes. By 1858 no Toman is on record there. But Downes and Carty remain.

Although the Slane / Slein family were living in Drumshanagh /Drimshanagh in 1833, the only Slane family with a holding large enough to appear in the 1833 Tithe Records is a large grouping in the townland of Tenlagh (sic) aka Tintagh (modern spelling) in the civil parish of Boyle.

This family cluster is still strongly present in Tintagh (north of Boyle, along the shores of Lough Key) spilling over onto the adjoining townland of Doon (see also Pat Slane of Cornacarta, north of Lough Key).

The given name "Bartholomew Slane" is passed down through the generations of Drumshanagh and Tintagh. A professional investigation could prove /disprove James's connection to Tintagh. The 1829 freeholder's register may reveal more.

Arthur Toman was Eliza Toman's brother. Between them you should be able to glean the names of all their siblings.

Also present in Drumshanagh in 1833 as un-named partners (as far as Tithes were concerned) were Sheerin/ Sheeran, Griffin, and Lenden. Downes & Carty were the overall reps of the two rundale villages in this townland.

Arthur Toman married Mary Downes in 1826 and stood as godparent for a child of Edward Downes & Eleanor Slane in 1838. In 1811 he witnessed the marriage of Pat Toman & Anne Hamill and was godparent to a child of theirs as well (likely siblings).

In 1843 Elizabeth Toman witnessed the marriage of Honor SHEERAN to Pat Hannon. In 1846 she godparents a child of Edward Downes & Helen / Eleanor Slane (as per Arthur Toman). This Eleanor Slane godparents for James & Elizabeth in 1834. Edward Downes is recorded at farmhouse # 1e Drumshanagh, on the eastern side of the townland, adjascent to James Slane's farm.

It's great that both surnames are so unique in Boyle. Easy to discover more!

Can you tell me where Drumshanagh is located?  Does it have a present day name change?  I do not find it on any maps.  Debbie
